full moon
i had a full moon for my birthday :) i was very happy. i had such a wonderful day! so many people called to wish me happy birthday and tell me that they loved me. i am so grateful to be loved and be able to love. it makes life feel so deeply worthwhile.

my mother bought me an espresso maker for my birthday. i have been indulging in this espresso fix ever since, and i am walking around with my eyelids glued to my forehead (figuratively speaking) because i am SO AWAKE. it's great. wake up groggy, chug back the coffee, and whammo! your body lurches into liveliness. or hyper-neurotic-ness. if i haven't encountered that state yet due to high volumes of espresso in my veins i'm sure the experience is just around the corner. needless to say, i am addicted. espresso. yum.

it was so relaxing to be home. there is so much snow in londontown! and it kept snowing. tons and tons. lots more than we have here in toronto. the kitty was more affectionate than usual this weekend (i think she is lonely because mum is working in the office now, since dad's secretary is ill). she followed me around a lot and was extra-communicative (mrowing at me when i walked into the kitchen in the morning. a kind of "you're UP! FEED ME!" + "you're UP?!?!?!?! go AWAY. i am still having my BEAUTY SLEEP."

it's lovely being 22. this may sound odd but it feels right. the best birthday present of all was getting approved for the apartment tony and i applied for. !!!!!! i can't wait!! nine weeks and we are moving, folks. i am grinning like a mad thing at the prospect. so happy!

rhyming + apartments + cleaning = happy sappho
i've been working on essays mostly - i still have three more to go, and i am going to have to write one this weekend while i'm in london (i hope to GOD that actually happens, otherwise my tight time-frame is going to get unbearably tighter).

i've been cooking and cleaning (my floors are gleaming) and i'm starting to rhyme again - but in any case this place feels good, because it's so much, well, cleaner. thank you c for helping me wash dishes!! it goes so much faster when you don't have to stop in the middle and dry everything so that the draining basket can become empty and available again.

it's been such a busy week. tony and i have looked at a lot of apartments and, unexpectedly, we've found a place on st. mary street. we're going to see the actual unit we're renting (they showed us an example unit, because it was being renovated and was empty - the unit they will give us still has a tenant living in it (he's supposedly moving out at the beginning of march)) and if everything is ok (i hope it is i hope it is!!!) then we will take it. which means i just have to finish up schoolwork for this year and find a job. and then move, and write exams. i always feel like my life is an eternal chanting of an endless schedule.

apparently molly isn't coming to toronto :( molly. sniff, sniff. what does this mean? will all the annesley girls have to organize a group trip to brazil so we can at least SEE YOU? (kailey can we bring thomas? i think he'd like the monkeys.) i miss you molls. i hope you are having a good time in maine and that you stay in touch when you're back in brazil. (in fact, "annesley girls" is really a code name for a secret service group that organizes trips around the world in search of lost friends. so, uh, molly, we're coming to get you. look out for the group of pistol-packin' mamas in black leather and sunglasses and heavy-duty jeans. that'll be us. we even have a special black leather suit for thomas. and we have our own soundtrack. it follows us everywhere.)

well, things are trundling along - i still have the TJSFF on the go, and the FOD is slowly coming together - i hope most of you can come to the festival of dance, i'll keep you updated. i'm not sure which night i'll be performing, but i am directing friday night with kendra, so if you want to come see that (it'll be cool!! i'm trying to work video into the overall presentation. i know, i know. i'm a film major...no matter how hard i try, everything i do ends up involving film in one way or another).

i'm gonna run now - i have to shower and pack my last-minute things and head down to union station. maybe i'll grab a few seconds to write over the weekend from london - if not, then you'll probably hear from me after i've turned 22 ;)

ablogaday goes out the window
so much for february. or rather, so much for my goal to post a blog a day. (it was working for two months, but life caught up with me. what was i thinking?) so, as some of you know, i managed to catch the lethal flu circulating in the streets, classrooms, phone booths, and subways of toronto. it knocked me out for a good two weeks folks, and i'm still coughing. anyway now i am studiously dedicating my time to writing a slew of essays, and i will not ever, ever, ever, blog-a-day again. because obviously a blog a day doesn't keep the doctor away. or anything else, for that matter.

i am working on a literature review right now for my australian and new zealand cinemas course. i'm trying to read four books in a day. (what is with this obsession with days i have going on here?) see, i have to read all four books today somehow, because i have to finish this essay by tomorrow, i have to, because from sunday - wednesday i have to write two other papers. and those two other papers are kinda big. as you can see, i don't have much choice in this matter, of reading all these books today. so i shall. somehow.

hey talibah!!!!! i wrote something!!!!!!! i'm going to visit your blog now. i hope the visit at 666 spadina went well, tulip & spartacus. can't wait to hear about it ;)

the usual suspects
i've been avoiding posting (by writing, that is) the past couple of days by just putting up photos. it's been a hard week, in more ways than just being sick, and i'll be glad to see it ending. i saw the usual suspects tonight and i absolutely love the film. kevin spacey is amazing. anyhow this one is going to be short; hopefully over this weekend i will get better and i'll be able to dedicate more energy to getting to class and choreographing and working for the dance coalition, and to posting more interesting entries on oneira.
