catch-up
here are some photos i've been meaning to load for a bit.

the first two are of a rainbow after a rainstorm.

the second two are shots of yonge & bloor after the subway shut down right at the beginning of rush hour last week due to electrical cables falling onto the tracks at eglinton station.

and finally, a sunset.

last week was a particularly nasty full moon
ah spart. i'm updating. i kept wanting to last week but then i thought - this will stress me out MORE, not help, i just need to live through the week and get to monday.

and here's monday, complete with update and all.

The Story (aka The Great Tale of Woe):

basically on saturday the 13th, t & i stayed out until 6 am*. 6 AM LADIES! i haven't pulled an all-nighter since second year, when i had to get a paper done for japanese cinemas and literary studies at the same time. stayed up all night and looked like a scarecrow as a result. anyway on saturday we went to bed at 6 am and i didn't get up until 6:45 am on monday. so i slept for about 24 hours, minus the 40 minutes i got up to eat dinner on sunday.

that week i developed a cough. and as the week progressed the cough got worse and worse. i finally realized i had to go to the doctor on thursday when i experienced 2 insane coughing fits during my pilates class on thursday morning.

so i went to see the doctor and he listened to my lungs, and heard gurgling in my right lung. he asked me to get an xray to rule out pneumonia. so i got the xray, but the thing is the results were sent later that day (or on friday) to my doctor, and my doctor doesn't work on fridays. so i was on antibiotics (bad for me! very, very bad!) and i wasn't going to know until monday whether or not i had pneumonia. not only that, i didn't know whether the antibiotics were even HELPING because a) they don't feel like they're helping and b) the possible pneumonia i might or might not have could be viral instead of bacterial.

so i called the technicians at the xray clinic and asked them if they had the results and explained the situation and asked if they could tell me if i had pneumonia or not. nope, they can't.

so i had to wait til today, whilst taking antibiotics which is never a good idea for me because i am allergic to some antibiotics and my body just plain hates them.

anyway, i called my doctor twice today and finally got a call back - negative for pneumonia.

which, guess what, means they don't know what i've got. yay!

i have been prescribed lots and lots of rest. and i have to finish my antibiotics. oh, and i have to rest, did i mention that? A LOT. in my doctor's secretary's words (whom i love to bits, she's wonderful) "don't overdo it, ok? just REST."

she knows me quite well.

yours truly,

Madame Coughs Alot

p.s. i really want a kitty.

*yes there was lots of vodka involved

p.p.s. i think i need to stop cataloguing my health woes. at this rate you will all have proof that i don't have an immune system. although technically, i have been extremely healthy since i quit my job in april. this is my first strike-out! my first one! i guess i need to generate a list of blog topics. i'll do that while i'm supposedly studying anatomy. (ok i'll study anatomy too).

ok gotta go!

love,
